Michaela Gile

Michaela Gile is the English teacher at Northshore Recovery High School, where she has worked since the school’s inception in 2006. She has licenses in High School English and Moderate Special Needs. Michaela’s excitement about teaching and learning compelled her to earn master’s degrees in Education, English Literature, and Mental Health Counseling. She has been teaching for over twenty-five years and has worked with a wide range of ages and abilities.
Michaela’s classroom reflects her belief that students learn best when they are immersed in a trauma-informed environment, where they can express themselves freely. Her students work on a variety of writing assignments and can choose books from an extensive classroom library, which Michaela has compiled through donations and grants. Over the past ten years, Michaela’s students have frequently won accolades for their poems at the Beverly Library Teen Poetry Contest.
In addition to teaching, Michaela works as a mental health counselor in a private practice in Georgetown. In her free time, she loves to read, hike, and beat her students at foosball.
